VBAC with Midwives

“Heather is an amazing midwife! This was my first VBAC birth and she helped settle all my fears, made me and my boyfriend feel cared for and took the time to answer all question.”

– Grace A.

VBAC means vaginal birth after cesarean. Midwives have long supported women in their desires and goals for VBAC.

The most important decision a woman desiring a VBAC can make is the decision of who will be her care provider and what kind of support will they provide.

The misnomer of “once a cesarean always a cesarean” is not necessarily a healthy option for women desiring more children. The risks of surgery for both women and babies seldom outweigh the risks of vaginal birth after cesarean if the woman has had a previous cesarean with a low transverse incision.

There are many factors regarding your specific situation that you will want to discuss with your care provider to determine if you are a good candidate for a VBAC.

Heather is currently the only VBAC Facts® Professional in San Diego. She specializes in working with VBAC clients, and she uses evidence-based information when recommending and providing care.

Your desire and your willingness to work towards your goal and the support you receive from your care provider are the most important factors in helping you achieve your VBAC.
